As I was scrolling through Craigslist the other day the photo below caught my attention. What is the point of this photo? How does it serve the seller? What was the seller thinking when they added this photo to their listing?
Personally I’d like to better understand what is being offered.
How often do our efforts to market your business cover up the value we really offer?
Are the words you use making it harder for people to understand what you offer?
Do the images you use hinder people’s ability to understand what you offer?
How’s your business doing at helping people understand what you offer?
Are you inadvertently making it harder for people to see, understand and appreciate what you offer?
When we are so close to our own business it can be easy to use, words, images, and stories that we understand but our ideal clients might not connect so well. Sometimes an outside perspective can help us see how we might be covering up what we offer with a “bag,” making it harder for people to choose you.
Pause for a moment and consider if any part of your marketing efforts could be clearer. If you come up with any ideas then make a plan to fix it.
