Black Toilet Paper & Marketing: A Match Made in Heaven

Imagine going over to a friend’s house for a party. You’ve been having a good time enjoying the atmosphere and conversation with friends. You’ve had a few beverages and now it’s time to head for the little room.

As you take care of business, you notice something unusual. The roll of toilet paper is black. Black! Black!!!! You can’t help yourself you take a closer look. Black toilet paper? That’s not normal. Is the stuff for real?

Your hostess has placed a novelty item in the bathroom. It stands out from what’s normal or expected. It got your attention.

Business done, you rejoin the party. But you suddenly can’t help but talk about the black toilet paper. And suddenly everyone has to visit the loo. Soon everybody’s talking about the black toilet paper.

And that my friends, is a match made in heaven.

Standing out from the crowd requires doing something that isn’t normal or expected. What could you do to help capture the attention of your ideal clients?

The black toilet paper was remarkable because it was unique and unusual. Remarkable means worth remarking on. When a business stands out from the crowd it becomes more remarkable. It becomes easier for people to talk about and share with others.

When it comes to marketing, word-of-mouth is powerful. What can you do to make your business more black-toilet-paper-like so that more people would talk about you?
